# Max, Min within a list within a cell

1. ## Max, Min within a list within a cell

I have data in a sheet that look exactly like this:

[54.6 38.1 29.68 33.65 61.43]
[56.83 56.19 35.87 69.52 47.94]
[63.33 43.02 80.95 30.79 57.62]
[22.6 26.1 4.81 38.94 44.33]
[45.79 51.33 32.23 26.4 28.73 23.77 98.15]
[22.31 50.75 57.17 15.17 57.6 ]
[41.71 49.44 2.19 48.85]

Each bracketed list of numbers is contained in a single cell, each cell in a different row of a column.

How can I extract the max and min from each cell despite the brackets and lack of commas?

2. ## Re: Max, Min within a list within a cell

Try this

MAX =AGGREGATE(14,6,--TRIM(MID(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"[",""),"]","")," ",REPT(" ",250)),ROW(INDIRECT("1:50"))*250,250)),1)

MIN =AGGREGATE(15,6,--TRIM(MID(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"[",""),"]","")," ",REPT(" ",250)),ROW(INDIRECT("1:50"))*250,250)),1)

Thank you, but I'm a novice. What do I do with that?
