VLOOKUP and IF Statement Combination for a Date

Need help with a formula, as I can't figure out the correct combination.

I have two sheets, in sheet 1, cell F1:F8, I want a "Y" to populate if the date in sheet 2 is current or a "N" to populate if the date is in the past. Additionally, I am trying to link it the same way my cells in sheet 1 C2:E8 are currently, where I input in sheet 2 cells B2:B8 the desired position for each member to go to.

    Hi
manually adding some expected results to your sheet and adding some explanation would really help.

Re: VLOOKUP and IF Statement Combination for a Date

    Hello,

Hopefully, this helps explain what I am trying to accomplish better.

If license date is in the past, then a "N" should be reflected in Sheet 1, under the corresponding "License" column and identified row.

For example: G2 is entered in cell B2, this automatically pulls data from C2:E2 into the corresponding cells in Sheet 1.

I am trying to add a similar result for the License column in Sheet 1, the main difference would be instead of displaying the date from the License column in Sheet 2, a "Y" or "N" would be displayed.

Y = date is same as TODAY() or is a future date
N = date is in the past

If you edit the information in Sheet 2, column B with one of the listed designations from Sheet 1, column B you will see how the information changes in Sheet 1, Column C2:E8. I would like to have column "F" in Sheet 1 also automatically update accordingly.

    Hi JeteMc,

Thanks for the help. I saw how your formula worked, unfortunately I was unable to get it to work with my actual workbook. I am not sure why it didn't work, I checked the cell designations and made changes. I have uploaded a more accurate reflection of the actual workbook I will be using. I input your formula, but the cells are blank.
    I appreciate the assistance.

I believe that the following will work, although having to write a formula based on only the one example (g-2) is less than optimal:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

I apologize for the delayed response.

For examples you have G-2 to G-8 (to include the A and B's respectively). The idea is I input the "POST designation I want a person to fill in the "MATRIX" sheet in column B, which will directly correspond to the "POST" section in the "ROSTER" sheet.

For example in the "MATRIX" sheet I want "ARIA" (currently listed in C:12) to be posted as Guardian-6A with all his information in the "ROSTER" sheet next to the Guardian-6A designation, therefore I will put "G-6A" (the short hand for Guardian-6A) in column B on the "MATRIX" sheet next to his name. Doing so will transfer his name, phone number, license, and cert info over in the correct spot related to the post.

Additionally, I would like a similar formula for the "CERT" column in the "ROSTER" sheet (Column J) but it would have to read from the H, I, and J column's in the "MATRIX" sheet. The H, I, and J column's each represent a different CERT, each person should only have one cert as they supersede each other, as someone progresses.
