Average age of a group of years to 2020

Hi,

I am trying to find the Average age in years between a group of dates in relation to 2020.

I have ten dates in a sheet from (F7:F16) and the dates are below.

1984
1988
1967
2016
1997
1972
1982
1988
1991
2016

Can I find the Average age in years of these dates with a single formula or do I need to workout the age of each year in relation to 2020 and then do the Average function?

What is the average age of a group of years? I have no idea what you are expecting here, sorry.

I have attached the work book, thanks.

For instance the dates in age to 2020 are below and I can work out the average of this. However I am asking if I can workout the Average without first working out the difference between each date in relation to 2020.

=year(today())-AVERAGE(F7:F16)
