    sum ifs multiple options

Please see the attached excel what I am trying to do it have 2 pages

1 page has a sum of total hours from training and callout per person

the second page has an ever going list that has the persons name (possibly with others) in a column the duration of an event (training or callout) and the type of event

Is is possible to have the sum of the amount of time a person has been on either training or a call out continually update from the other sheet?

Note 1: I chose 400 rows as a safe max number for your data. If you think you will have less rows, reduce that number. With SUMPRODUCT, the bigger the range, the longer it will take to calculate.

Note 2: You had a space in front of Leydet in A5. That will screw up your searches. Be careful with that.

in B2, copied across and dnown:

    =SUMIFS(Sheet2!$A:$A,Sheet2!$C:$C,'Hours total'!B$1,Sheet2!$B:$B,"*"&$A2&"*")

I had to remove leading spaces in the yellow shaded cells.
