    Vlookup returning zero when there is a value in that cell.

    Hi All

    I am looking up columns from one workbook to another.

    So in Book1 Column A I need data from Book2 Column A then Column B than C etc...

    I have looked up Column A & Column B from Book2 as above and it worked fine however, Column C & D are returning zero where there is information on the cells.

    There cant be anything wrong with data in Book1 column as I did get proper results on first two look ups.

    Anyone?

    Hi there.

    A picture is worth 1,000 words. An Excel sheet is worth 1,000 non-editable pictures.

    Please read the yellow banner about sample worksheets, at the top of the screen. Act on its guidelines and post a SMALL sample sheet.

    3000 rows and no indication of where we are supposed to look.

    Come on... a bit more information, please.

    The formulae in Book 2 were referring to an external sheet with VERY different layout... data starting in J.

    This MIGHT be whjat you want for your sample, but it's ard to tell as the column headings don't quite tally.

    Variants of this;

    =IFERROR(1/(1/VLOOKUP($A2,BOOK1!$A:$AA,18,0)),"")

    have been used in the pale green cells.
