Vlookup & Countifs

Hi All

Having trouble with this formula which is clearly not right but not sure what I am doing wrong.

=VLOOKUP(A4,DAYROTA!$C$6:$C$14,(COUNTIF(DAYROTA!$R$6:$AD$14,"H")))

On the 'day rota' tab in cells C6 to C14 lists the employees, in cells R6:AD14 contains holiday booked data with "H" to identify a days holiday.

I want to count the total number of days holiday booked and pull onto a 'summary data' tab by each employee, names listed in A3:A14 with the data to show in column B

Without worksheet, just guess:

=SUMPRODUCT(('day rota'!$C$6:$C$14=$A3)*('day rota'!$R$6:$AD$14="H"))

Drag down

If it does not work, try to attach a sample WS.
