Count numerical values based on a text value in an adjacent cell.

I'm trying to find a way that will count the values in certain cells based on the text "label" underneath it. I'd like to count the numbers above the cells that say "count me" and place the result in cell J5, for example.

I'm still a complete Excel novice, is there a way to do this?

Thanks for the reply but I think I need to add a bit more information. The cells that contain the labels will actually be a drop down list with values I want to change. So, the cells I want to count will change depending on the selected label.
It will also have much more cells than my basic example so specifying each cell could become cumbersome.

In that case you can put the value you want to look at in J4 & use
