Pulling Data at the End of A Business Day

Hi! I’m sure you get so many messages but hopefully you can answer mine!! I was wanting to see if there was a formula I could use to pull data value (numbers) from a cell to a new cell based on time and date. For example, at the end of Friday at 5 PM I want to see how many people are on X column (I have a total at the bottom of the cell). Then the following week, as I make changes, i can see the variances. hopefully you can assist! I currently have two columns. What I was doing is copying and pasting values at the end of the week and allowing my totals to auto-update (sum function). And then I would create a variance line.

Re: Pulling Data at the End of A Business Day

    Hello!

Premise: I have to compile a chart that denotes values from last week to this week. Every Saturday, the sheet should pull the transfer the this week column to last week column and pull info for the new week. It all needs to be done in a single chart (not two) as I want to have a line graph auto-updating every week. Info is pulled from the first table under Maria.

After a bit more brain storming, I think I need a macro, rather than a formula... I am not entirely sure.

yes , you would need a macro, VBA I dont answer here , as a function will look at the sheet and update each time new data is presented

It maybe worth closing this thread, MARK AS SOLVED , and post a new question BUT IN THE VBA FORUM, with the full details , and the example spreadsheet , BUT show some expected results , also will the sheet be opened on a saturday and the macro run, ???? or are you expected some sort of scheduler to run with the PC ON ?

Not clear whether for "Last Week/This Week"" has to be static for your plot and hence the need for VBA

    =INDEX(MARIA!$B$3:$W$25,ROWS($1:1),MATCH('RECURRING TABLE'!$B$3,MARIA!$B$1:$W$1,0))

This pulls data for date in B3 and similar for B4

As dates in B3/B4 change, data will be updated.
