    Google Sheets to Create Budget Tracker

    Hello,

    I am trying to use Google Sheets to create a budget tracker. I got the template from someone else and I'm trying to tweek it to fit my needs. How it is supposed to work is that I use a Google form to submit a response to sheet A and then sheet B has a formula to pull from sheet A to the right place. I believe there is something wrong with the formula that is being used but I don't know how to fix it.

    The formula is: =SUMIFS(Expenses!$D$1:$D, Expenses!$B$1:$B, ">="&$A9, Expenses!$B$1:$B, "<"&(EOMONTH($A9, 0)+1), Expenses!$E$1:$E, "="&B$1)

    I believe the problem lies within the first Expenses!$B$1:$B. When I highlighted it, it gave the date of 8/22/2020. So, when I input an expense using that date, it will calculate it. However, when I put in any other date, it won't register it. How can I fix this? I will try to post the link to the sheet below.

    I'm realizing that the problem is it won't recognize 2021 dates, but I don't know how to fix that.

    Re: Google Sheets Formula help

    You can not yet post a link... but everyone can post a sheet... from Day 1. READ the yellow banner (top of page) carefully.

    Incidentally, posting pointless comments to get your post number up is likely to get you a warning for potentially being a troll or a spammer, in which case suspension or a ban usually follows.

    Administrative Note:

    Welcome to the forum.

    We would very much like to help you with your query, however the thread title does not really convey what your request is about. Tell us what you are trying to do, not how you think it should be done.

    Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

    Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.

    (Note: this change is not optional. As you are relatively new here, I have done it for you today.)
