Date in cells as criteria range in Sumifs but formula is not picking it based on criteria

Hi,

I am working on a file to get No, of units for a product in a specific month.

With the help of Sumifs, it should be achieved but when I apply the formula it does not pick the criteria dates from the date range given. I think the format is the issue. I tested by pressing F2 it changes a gives results but the data is too big for pressing F2.

The dates in column B appear to be text (left aligned). Converting to dates (Text to Columns) resolves the issue,
