SUMPRODUCT to look for dates?

So I have a workbook with multiple sheets, one that shows some "highlights" and another with some raw data.
One bit I want to highlight is a summation of the data from each specific date, there is a date column on the second sheet that should have this data, but sumproduct doesn't seem able to find the right information, possibly because the data in the date column is a date/time serial number rather than an actual date.

I have tried adjusting it by pulling the actual month/day/year but that didn't work either.

See cells C16/C17 on sheet 3 for reference as to what I am trying to do.
Also if there is a better way to pull the date and time out of the data from column B of sheet 1 into columns B and C in sheet 2 rather than just pulling the data and formatting the cells for date and time respectively I would appreciate that.
