    Using conditional formatting with INDIRECT

    Hi there!

I'm having trouble using conditional formatting with the INDIRECT function.
In the attached workbook, in column P, I have a range to highlight with conditional formatting. Cells in this column are going to be populated dynamically. So cells references are going to change.
In my case, I tried to apply the conditional formatting this way: =INDIRECT($P$3). But it only works once. When I change the value, i.e $F$3:$L$3 instead of $F$3:$N$3. The conditional formatting does not apply.

Could you please help me with this request?

    Many thanks!

Excel won't let you use a formula for the "Applies to" field. It automatically converts it to a set range. Try this instead (first clear your old rules)
Select C3:N12, Conditional Formatting>New Rule>Use Formula>"Format values where this formula is true"
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Does that work for you?

@ChemistB, this is brilliant!! I tried to combine COLUMN and INDIRECT but did not manage to succeed.
    Thanks a lot!
