Timesheet - What time to clock out not to exceed 37.50 hours?

Good day everyone. This is my very first post on a forum. I'm not the excel pro as most of you probably are, which is why I felt this would be a great place to get answers.

My company has a time clock for all non-exempt employees. Overtime will begin once they go over 37.50 hours (usually it is 40 hours).

The time totals the hours by decimals, which is necessary for payroll.

The question I get often is how does a person know what time to clock out on a Friday to avoid going over 37.50 hours.

I tried an "IF" formula, but it is not working.
    example: =IF(Q8:Q11>H3, K12+(7/24)+(60/1440),NOW())

I tried calculating the difference in running hours, but that isn't working either.

    example: =E1+(H2-SUM(F7:F11))

I think I just haven't figured out the time formula. I've tried the latter example based on an example this forum provided, but it is not working. I'm not sure why he said it did work.

I've attached an example of a week's timesheet and the excel file. I've also included the formulas.
I hope the attached are visible. There should be four files.

Can someone please help me understand what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you!

An image attachment has limited value. Just attach the Excel file. It's easier than taking a screenshot first and then attaching that. Having your file allows us to see and experiment with your data, layout, formulas, code, and possibly attach a file with a completed solution. If you are looking for formulas to produce a desired result, it helps if you create a mock-up of what you want the result to look like. Otherwise we would have to build something from scratch, trying to guess what you want it to look like.

The paper clip icon does not work for attachments. To attach a file:

    1. Under the text box where you type your reply click the Go Advanced button.
    2. On the next screen scroll down and under the Attachments section click the Manage Attachments link, which will show a pop-up window.
    3. Click the Choose File button to select a file to attached.
    4. Click the Upload button to upload the file.
    5. Then click the Close This Window button. Your file is now attached to your post.

Re: Timesheet - What time to clock out not to exceed 37.50 hours?

I am sorry, I thought I attached the actual file.

    Case:

Clock in each day (Monday - Friday)
Clock out for lunch each day (Monday - Friday)
Clock in after lunch each day (Monday - Friday)
Clock out end of day each day (Monday - Friday)
    Calculate total hours worked (cumulatively)

Each day the work hours are 8:30 - 5:00 p.m.
    1 hour break for lunch.
    7.50 hours each day.
    37.50 hours each week.
Anything over 37.50 is considered overtime.

the system will review the hours worked and determine what time the employee needs to clock out to avoid going over the 37.50 hours\

That is what I'm hoping to achieve.

    Try

    in H15

    =D11+($H$2-SUM($F7:$F10)-($C11-$B11))
