Regular OT, Double OT and Over 40 hours OT

Hello, I need to calculate for multiple people for years of data and I've hit a roadblock for the over 40 hours. See attached.

Explain your roadblock. There are no annotations in your workbook at all.

    Please explain your problem.

Looking at the data how can you have 28 hours of OT if total hours worked is 58 (H8) and a normal week is 40 hours?

    Hi Ali,

Thank you for your reply. I manually entered F7 and F8 but want it to automatically populate; making H8 incorrect.

Why are F7/F8 formulae different from F2 And don't understand difference between columns F and G?

That doesn't explain anything satisfactorily - sorry. Give details, please.

Re: Regular OT, Double OT and Over 40 hours OT

I apologize for not being clear. I am trying to calculate the daily overtime, daily double time, and weekly over 40 hours overtime, less the overtime that has been paid, to compute the correct overtime for the week. I would like to keep this (or similar) style as I have several years of data for a number of employees. The employees are paid 1.5 x regular rate over 8 in one day and 2 x regular rate over 12 hours in a day. Their daily rate changes as they receive wage increases. In addition, all hours over 40 are at 1.5 hrs the regular hourly rate. I've removed my formulas.

Re: Regular OT, Double OT and Over 40 hours OT

Here is the calculation I guess:

If Weekly hours < =40: regular hours: 8; OT between (8,12); DOT greater than 12
If Weekly hours > 40 : regular hours: 8; OT and DOT =0, but "OT>40" greater than 8

    Is it true?

    See attachment.
