Excel 2007 functions unable to accept more than 1 argument

I am using Excel 2007. I would consider my level of Excel expertise to be between intermediate to advanced.

However, I just came across the strangest problem with my Excel which I can't resolve.

My Excel 2007 functions are completely unable up accept anything more than a single argument.

    =max(3) is fine
=max(3,4) generates an Excel error message

    =sum(4) is fine
=sum(4,9) generates an Excel error message

Is anyone able to help out?

This is the strangest of strange error which I'd ever come across...I tried Windows Updates, reboot, restart, even reinstallation... Nothing works.

    Help....tx
    Maverick.

When I do those formulas I do not get an error.

It might be the version you are using.

Is your version expecting semicolons as argument separators? I think that is controlled somewhere in your OS regional settings.

Re: Excel 2007 functions unable to accept more than 1 argument

Folks, thanks to all...I've resolved the issue.

MrShorty hit the jackpot. For some unknown reason, my delimiter in my OS setting became ( instead of the usual (,). This messed up Excel, cos' it was expecting (,).

    Thanks to all!
