Need formula to calculate number of semi monthly pay periods within date range

Hello:

I need a formula to calculate the number of semi monthly pay periods within a date range. For ex. employee A worked from January 5, 2016 (B1) to March 18, 2017 (C1). Pay periods are from 1st to 15th and 16th to end of month/per month. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
