WorkbookA checkbox values to have values (yes/no) copied to WorkbookB cells

    Good day,
Have workbookA that has some form checkboxes. I need to copy those form checkbox values/results to cells in workbookB. The values would be perfect as "yes" or "no, meaning YES = checkbox is checked and NO = checkbox is unchecked. I was linking text cells from workbookA to workbookB by going to workbookB, clicking on cell where I wanted the copied text value, putting an equals in the formula bar, then clicking on workbookA cell that I wanted copied and clicked on ENTER. Works great for text cells. Now I have a few checkboxes and this method does not work. Have also tried Ctrl + clicking on the cell, but that only brings back a zero, no matter if the checkbox is checked or not. Can this be done, or requires VBA code? If requires VBA code, any idea where to start reading to make this work? Your reply is more than appreciated. Wanda

    Hi Wanda,

Right-click on the form checkbox in workbook B and select 'Format Control'
Go to the 'Control' tab at the top.
In the 'Cell link' field click the excel sign with the red arrow.
Select the cell in the workbook A where you want to checkbox result.
    Click Enter and OK.
This will show as TRUE (is ticked) or FALSE (not ticked).

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for this. It works. Will be working on VBA at some point with these documents, but for now, this works and is what was required.
