Sometimes this formula produces #VALUE! as a result, and that is fine, but when it does, I want nothing to be returned in the cell. So...suppress #VALUE! and only put a result in the cell if it ISN'T #VALUE!
=IF(LEFT('Sheet1'!B3,FIND(",",'Foreign Taxes'!B3)-1)="","",LEFT('Sheet1'!B3,FIND(",",'Sheet1'!B3)-1))

With Excel 365, you can avoid repeating the formula using LET.
