Run Time error 13 Type Mismatch

I am getting a runtime error 13 Type Mismatch when I run this code:

[code] Dim OppPreRat As Long
OppPreRat = Range("E" + I).Value[code/]

Variable "I" is set to 3 and cell E3 is defined as number.

I would appreciate any suggestion on resolving.
