    filling date on different tabs in a work book based off of drop down selection

    Hello, I am trying to create a work order form for my work and it is for new construction homes and essentially what I am trying to do that I havent been able to figure out is how to make it so when I select zone 1 for instance as sheet vinyl itll auto populate the rooms for zone 1 on the sheet vinyl tab with the square yardage quantity (sy) but then if I need zone 1 to be Plank flooring itll pull the rooms and put them on the plank tab and fill it with the square feet quantity. If anyone can help with this or let me know if its even possible it would be greatly appreciated. I have attached what i have so far if anyone can help

    Is the "Plans_ZoneS" tab ???

    You will need VBA to do this: you need a "trigger" (Event) to determine what has been selected in the "Heading"" sheet.

    So we put rooms into zones so for instance zone 1 typically has the bathroom, utility room, laundry and zone 4 for instance will have the bedrooms and hallways that have carpet

    Yes: as per your "Plans-Zones" tab, See post #3 re needing VBA to "recognise" what has neen selected in "Heading" tab.

    And a Zone cannot have a mixture of flooring?

    It can not have a mixture. They can only select one type of flooring and that is all. so they can either choose it to be sheet vinyl or plank flooring not both but I will look into VBA and see if im smart enough to get that figured out.

    You need to differentiate between Wall and Floor tile in the drop down AND make the form layouts consistent i.e all room entries start on the same row e.g row 14 in attached

    It assumes (for example) Planks for multiple zones can be entered in the "Plank" tab

    Tab "DEF_ZONES" has named ranges for rooms in each zone

    The code needs to be inserted in "Header" sheet.

    Right click on "Header" tab, select "View Code" and copy/paste into the righthand side.
