Hi Excel forum users,
I am creating a monthly schedule and trying to employ conditional formatting to improve the experience when the user is populating the schedule. A sample version of the spreadsheet with PII removed is attached.
There are 2 conditional formatting rules I am trying to configure but I am not succeeding at the moment. They are:
- 1. Within the table in the September 2021 sheet, highlight all text matches based on the value of G2. However, if G2 is blank, no conditional formatting is applied. G2 has data validation applied based on a named range. The purpose: to visualise identify the number of times the individual has received an assignment in that month.
- 2. Within the table in the September 2021 sheet, highlight any cells which contain duplicates within a row only. The rule must not look for duplicates within a column. A person can only have 1 assignment per day.
Could I please have some assistance in formulating a solution for these 2 challenges I am facing? Please feel free to adjust the schedule provided and repost a copy with the solutions.
Many thanks,
Tim
