Import data in excel does not recognize hyperlinks - have to hit enter in every cell

I have imported data into excel and one column contains hyperlinks. When imported, the column is not recognizing the hyperlinks and I have to hit F2 and Enter into every cell to get it to convert. I know there are several work arounds for formulas with a similar issue to update, but none of them have worked on the hyperlink column. Any ideas?

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

1. Add a new column.
2. =HYPERLINK(C2) - copy down.
