    New formulas SORT & SORTBY - can I use it with not neighboring columns?

    hi,

    I have a question on new table formulas SORT and SORTBY. We can use it on tables of data, by sorting only neighboring columns. My question is, if we could use it on columns, which are not next to each other?

    I have to goals:
    1. Filter columns 2, 3 and 5 and sort by 5th column (price)
    2. Filter columns 2, 3 and 5 and sort by 5th column, but final result will show only columns 1 and 2. Column 5 is in the background

    There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

    thank you Fluff13. I have one more question - last column, which is used to sort table, contains prices. Sometimes the same items are being sold many times. Is it possible to sort based on total value (sum) of the same items

    Hi,

    pls see the file attached. So I expect to have in H2 formula that will do the same as pivot table in H18 - that will find unique values and sort based on sum of volumes sold. I do not want to see volumes column in the final result

    @afgi

    Administrative Note:

    Please don't quote whole posts, especially when you are responding to the one immediately preceding your own - it's just clutter. It's OK to quote if you are responding to a post out of sequence, but limit quoted content to a few relevant lines that makes clear to whom and what you are responding. Thanks!

    For normal conversational replies, try using the QUICK REPLY box below or the REPLY button instead of REPLY WITH QUOTE.

    Why does your request have nothing to do with NAME and DATE, right?

    Want to see volumes column in the final result

    Cell H19 formula

    HTML Code:
    Do not want to see volumes column in the final result
