    search in multiple ranges

    Hello,
I am trying to create a function that will look at the contents of of cell E28 to determine if the number found there falls within a range of numbers and based on the answer it will spit out a dollar value into cell N5. There is a list of ranges (see below) and corresponding dollar value answers.
    0-25 units $45
    26-50 units $55
    51-100 units $69
    101-200 units $89
    201-300 units $129
    301-400 units $159
    401-500 units $199
    501-600 units $219
    601-700 units $239
    701-800 units $259
    801-900 units $279
    901-1000 units $299

So for example is the value in E28 = 14 the formula will spit out $45 but if the value of E28 is 72 the formula would spit out $69.

    How do I achieve this?

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: search in multiple ranges

A picture is not worth very much to us - it is better to attach a sample Excel workbook, as directed in the yellow banner at the top of the screen. By arranging your reference data slightly differently (i.e. having separate columns for the From and To values) you could use a VLOOKUP formula.

    Hope this helps.

I was hoping to do this without having to have the ranges and dollar amounts above embedded in the excel workbook since this will be used in a presentation.
