    Percentage function went overboard

Hello, sorry for the mediocre title, couldn't think of something better.

Anyway, in my table I have values written as 88, 98, 11, etc. Once I hit the "%" button, it added extra 0s so now it looks like 8800%, 9800%, 1100%, and so on.

What can I do to remove the extra 0s without having to retype everything?

To get it back to the original numbers, just format the cells as General. If you want those numbers to show as 88%, 98% and 11%, you'd need to first divide them by 100.

    Please try.

place 100 in a cell (for example at J1)
then copy that cell (J1), next
select all of your data that have 0s exceed.
use paste special value [ select operation Divide ]

    Regards.

if it is an entire column (eg column A), drop a new column beside it (eg. column B), then to change A2, in cell B2 formula will be like this:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
now drag it down to all other rows that need to be changed

select the cells from B2 and down, then copy, then click once on cell A2, then do Paste Special> Values
all the cells will now be the correct amount, and you can delete column B
