Issue with an equation returning 0s when it encounters a alphanumeric character

I am having issues with the following equation...

    =IF($F8="","",SUMIFS('La Crosse Data'!$C$81:$C$161,'La Crosse Data'!$A$81:$A$161,$I8,'La Crosse Data'!$B$81:$B$161,$J8))

It works great for the most part. The only issue if it encounters a cell with a M (missing value), it returns a 0. Is there a way to have it return an M in these cases.

what would you want it to return?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

I would like it to return the alphanumeric character it encounters, but if that is not possible an M would work.
