Summarizing Amount of Payments Per Calendar year based on Start and end of Lease.

    Hello,
I have equipment that we sign lease contracts on for multiple years, but we only use the equipment certain months of the year and are billed for only those months.
We only pay for the equipment on the months we use it

For example we only use Lawn Mowers from April to October of Each year. A five year contract would appear like this 04-01-2020 to 11-01-2025. so for calendar years 2020 to 2025 we are paying 7 months each year.
For a Snow Plow we lease them from November to April. A 3 year contract would appear like this 11-01-2020 to 05-01-2023 so for calendar year 2020 we are paying one month, 2021 5 months, 2022 5 months, and 2023 4 months.

I am looking for a formula that can look at each calendar year and determine if the contract is active, and if so for how many months of that year.

Really appreciate your insight and help.

    T
