Formula for calculating difference in 24 hour time format

I am looking for a formula that will show the difference in 24 hour time format
    eg: 17:30 - 24:00 = 6.50

This will also be used for billing purposes, so final time should not be 6:30, but instead 6.5

    Administrative Note

Members will tailor the solutions they offer to the version of Office (Excel) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date in this respect. What is 10 pro? If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File | Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your version is for Mac, please also state this. Thanks.
