Copy Today() to another cell, where it won't change

    Hello everyone,

Is there a way, we can copy the date, which was entered through the formula "Today ()" on such way, that the copied one, will become static?

Maybe it is not possible. I have a formula, where I record working hours and the date is set automatically and I realised, that when I am using the Today() formula,
the following day, the date will change and I want to keep it as it is and not have it changed.

Is there even a way I can copy the value into another cell and make it static?

    Thank you for the help,

    Mike

It would be Copy / Paste Value. Doing so in the new cell you will not find the formula anymore but only the date.

You can use Ctrl + ; to insert day directly in the cell.

here is a formula method that will create a static timestamp.

    NOTE:
the formula will only create a timestamp when a value is put into a particular cell.
if the value of that cell changes, the timestamp will NOT change, it will remain static.
if the value is removed, then the timestamp will disappear, and if there is a value put into the particular cell then a fresh timestamp will appear.
this formula will require you to switch on Iterative Calculations (set Iterations to 1)

in this example formula the cell to look for a value and trigger the timestamp is cell C2
in this example, the cell where the timestamp will be placed is cell D2

    heres the formula:

    NOTE:
format the timestamp cell as a date, or as a custom date and time, to your liking.
