Unhappy IF this (Book 1, Sheet 1, Column C) = THAT (Book 2, Sheet 1, Column F) THEN????

    Hi Guys

I have spent too much time on this and I am stuck. haha

I am trying to do a comparison between 2 workbooks. But then if it is a match, I want another column to be copied into the other workbook.

I will try and explain it:

In workbook 2, I want a formula in Column W that is something like:
    IF this (Book 1, Sheet 1, Column C) = THAT (Book 2, Sheet 1, Column F) THEN (Book 1, Sheet 1, Column A) COPY into (Book 2, Sheet 1, Column W)

Please help this lost soul fix it.

See yellow banner of how to attach a sample workbook (with manually-calculated) examples included.
If that takes care of your original question, please select Thread Tools from the menu link above and mark this thread as SOLVED.

Your question is a bit unclear, for example, are you looking for to find out whether all of book 2, sheet 1, column F matches all of book 1, sheet 1, column C? In other words the entire column C and entire column F match exactly?

Or are you looking to find out if, for example, C2 is equal to F2 or if C2 is equal to any cell in column F like maybe F15?

And example as John mentioned would be helpful. But offhand I would say that if it’s the example I mentioned just above, look into using index/match.
