    Question CountIf(Range,"Match<X") Help with CountIf

    Hi,

I thought this would be easy but I'm stuck.

I'm working with 2 datasets, a longlist and a shortlist. I have a working Match formula that gives me the rows where there's a match. I wanted to nest the Match formula in a Count formula to get the total rows that are < 10.

I'm just working out the formula but I plan on using it in a VBA procedure so I'm looking to avoid helper Col or anything like that. And I am mentioning the fact that I will be throwing this into VBA because maybe I'm doing this the wrong way and there's an easier way. Thanks in advance.

    1. You should update your profile so we can tailor the answer to your version (10 is not a version).
    2. Adding a sample file is always helpful with a mockup of the answers you are expecting. (see the yellow banner at the top of the page).

When you say "less than 10", are you saying where the match # is less than 10? (Meaning, the 10th row (or less) in the list?) Or is it where the cell value is less than 10?

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I tried your formula if I applied it correctly it doesn't seem to do what I need. I am trying to upload a file to help.

Hi, Yes <10 is referring to the row number in the list.
