I hope somebody can help me with this. I have a simple workbook, 1 sheet, with formulas in it that do NOT link to any external data (or at least they shouldn't). And yet, every single time I open it I get:
This workbook contains links to one or more external sources that could be unsafe.
If you trust the links, update them to get the latest data. Otherwise, you can keep working with the data you have.
Update Don’t Update Help
I've used various methods to try and find them including Ctrl-F to search for .xl within formulas and nothing is found. I've scrolled through my workbook to try and find these links but there's nothing there. They are all simple formulas relating to that sheet. I've deleted all blank columns and rows to the right of and below my existing data. Still, I get the same message every time. If I go to Data / Edit Links, it brings up 3 links to old spreadsheets that don't exist. I click Break Link for each of them and nothing happens. They don't go away. There is no Delete button. I cannot find those links anywhere.
How can I discover what cells those links are sitting in? I just want to delete them permanently. Please can somebody help with this? What other method can I use to actually find these links?
