There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

    Administrative Note:

Members will tailor the solutions they offer to the version (NOT release number) of Office (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date in this respect. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File | Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your version is for Mac, please also state this. Thanks.

Re: Conditional Formatting Text and Date Category

Excel stores dates as numbers, but when doing comparisons text is always "greater than" numbers. So "Start" > 5 is TRUE, for example.

In conditional formatting you don't need to use IF(test,TRUE,FALSE), just test and it will do the formatting if true. So your original one becomes =C8>=TODAY()

Also make sure your dates are actually input as dates and not text. I believe 18.03.2022 is text for example, 18/03/2022 would be a date. You can check by setting the formatting to "General", this should show a number, 17/03/2022 is 44637 for example.

Once you have done this, conditional formatting such as =AND(ISNUMBER(C8);C8>=TODAY()) should work, which will only take effect on numeric values and therefore ignore text.
