    Conditional Formatting - Highlight WHOLE COLUMN based on the cell containing current date

    Hello! I'd like to highlight the entire column based on the current date. There are simple pre-made options in conditional formatting, however, this option usually only highlights the single cell containing today's date, whereas I would like the whole column that that cell is in.

    Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

    Highlight all the columns that you want to format at once. I assume you are starting with column A.
    Go to Conditional Formatting, Create Rule, "Use a formula....."
    Use this formula:

    Formula: copy to clipboard
    Please Login or Register to view this content.

    and then apply desired formatting.

    If that doesn't work please attach the file you used to make the screenshot.

    I think it should be:

    =A$1=TODAY()

    The $ is important.

    =A$1=TODAY() <- this did it!

    It appears I needed the $ in there to apply to the whole column.

    Thank you both!!!!
