    Conditional Formatting Issue with Rows

    Hello

I am running Excel 2010 and have the following issue with conditional formatting.

If there is an entry in column A, I would like to format the corresponding cells in the same row in columns B and C.

So I setup a formula for formatting of =A1<>"" and set the formatting range to $B$1:$B$10, which works in the B column. But how do I also apply this formatting to the same row in the C column?

I though that changing the range to $B$1:$B$10,$C$1:$C$10 or even $B$1:$C$10 would suffice, but neither works, only the B column is formatted.

Is this a limitation or am I missing something please?

    Cheers
    Robin

For the applies to range use $B$1:$C$10 and the formula should be =$A1<>""

Set the rule for B1 as :

    =$A1<>""

    Apply it to: $B$1:$C$10
