    Count if multiple criteria

I have a sheet containing two rows
first rows I have passing marks B1:H1
second row I have obtained marks B2:H2
I want to display "promoted" in result column
if a student fail in 2 subjects (if Passing marks < obtained marks) but
if he has total marks B2:H2 greater than 182 he should be promoted.

    Administrative Note:

Members will tailor the solutions they offer to the version (NOT release number) of Office (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date in this respect. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File | Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your version is for Mac, please also state this. Thanks.

Your logic and instructions are not clear. But, guessing here, I supposed this might do what you are aiming for : =IF(AND(SUMPRODUCT(--(B2:H2<B1:H1))>=2,SUM(B2:H2)<=182),"Fail","Promoted")
