VLOOKUP = #N/A because of cells containing similar info

    Hi,

    I need help please !

I have a form of customer info and need to return the different values from raw data. I am using the client's surname in one tab to pull out the rest of the info, but VLOOKUP doesn't like the fact that for a lot of the clients, their email address contains also their surname, and so it finds the info in two columns and returns an #N/A value. I could leave out the email column (and then it works), but I need to be able to pull that information as well. And so, I wonder if there is a magical formula to help me look for the exact spelling / format of the surname which is slightly different as in the email address.

Seems so simple... but I've been stuck with it for over an hour... please help !

    Cheers
    Sarah
