conditional formatting rows, but for cell content

    Hello,

Is there a formula to fill a row with text based on the value of a cell? For example if I populated cell A10 with the word 'Red', is there a way to trigger the word 'Red' to autofill cells A1 to A9? I know I can add a formula to each individual cell, but the spreadsheet I'm working on is large and complex, so this isn't really viable.

Essentially I want something like conditional formatting does, but for cell content. If there's a way I haven't found it.

    Thanks,

    Kerry

As for the content (not formatting): it can be either manually inserted (or it could be done by macro), or be a result of a formula, like in A1:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    and copied down to A2:A9

As for macro - it could be the event handler - namely using Worksheet_Change event
But as you are asking in Formulas section, I'm not writing more on this way
    Best Regards,

    Kaper

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I've used a lot of different formulae in my spreadsheet so I want to avoid having to add more to achieve this because it'll be a lot of work across thousands of cells - it's not as simple as copying down in the range I want to populate. I'll have a look at the macro option.
