Conditional Lookup based on two cells

    Greetings,

I am trying to count the number of people who are doing a certain course "Status" and are sponsored by themselves or by another entity. Sheet No. 1 is for the Cadets and who they are sponsored by Column "N". The total should add up in the Tracker Sheet. The Menu Sheet has all the options listed.

Appreciate a formula as my brain seems to have just died and lost my thinking capacity!

    Please see attached file.

    Thank you.

While I look at this... please update your profile. You are no longer using Excel 2003.

You can use this, copied across and down:

    =COUNTIFS(Cadet!$C:$C,$A4,Cadet!$N:$N,C$3)

However, please update your profile, now, to reflect your current Excel verison.

Note: the formula in B can also be simplified.

    Dave??? Who??

as it happens, my first name is David, but I'm normally known as Glenn... or "Oi!! YOU!!"

I do this simply for fun, so no need for coffee money. Thanks anyhow.

    You're welcome.

Ooops Glenn! Proof that my brain is certainly dead today! Can I buy you some beer then! It may be a little thing for you but these are big solvers for dummies like me! Hence. In any case, thank you.

Nahh! I'm sitting by a beach on the Atlantic coast of France, catching up with emails and doing a bit here on the Forum. A cool beer is already less than an arm's length away from me.

I'm fine. Just make sure the formula works for you.

In case you'd like to swap places... it's freezing cold here today. Kuwait would be better.

Ha! Why do you think my brain is fried.. It is nearly 40 plus C outside now. Imagine how our afternoons are? Clearly over 48C. And we dont have the luxury of beer here! This is a parched land!-

48 is a bit much. I spent a searingly hot day at a Border inspection Post on the fronteir between Iraqi Kurdistan and Turkey a few years back - about 45C... peering into refrigerated lorries full of frozen chicken being imported into Iraq. No air con, no shade, just HOT.

Nahh again. I'll stick to chilly France!
