Nested IF formulas returning incorrect values

I'm using a nested IF formula to return the highest number reached in a task: =IF(AF3 > 0,15,IF(AE3 > 0,11,IF(AD3 > 0,6,IF(AC3 > 0,4,IF(AB3 > 0,3,"N/A")))))

If the value in any column AB3-AF3 is not zero, I would like it to return the appropriate number for that column. (AF3 = 15, AE3 = 11, AD3 = 6, AC3 = 4 and AB3 = 3)

However, as you can see in the picture - the formula is returning the incorrect values for some rows. For example, the highest number reached in the fourth row was 3, but the formula is returning "6".

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.
