Sumif with changing range

Hi - wondering if it's possible to update my sumif formula to change the range. I've been manually updating the range to only include the rows that are relevant to the calculation.

At each line of Total, I'm manually updating the below formula to change the rows to only include the rows up to the previous Total row above.
=(G162-SUMIF(D155:D161,"Equity Partner",G155:G161))/SUMIF(D155:D161,"Equity Partner",G155:G161)

One last follow up, if I wanted to calculate "Associate" instead of "Equity Partner", would I only need to replace all instances of "Equity Partner" in the formula?
