Question COUNTIF or COUNTA + Centre across selection?

    Hi there,

I am wondering if COUNTIF or COUNTA is able to be used to count cells with data in them when using 'Centre across selection'?

The purpose of this is to create a teaching roster and be able to count the total teaching hours for the day.

Using the centre across the selection option, I have created "time blocks" of different classes for each teacher.

I'm then hoping to automatically count the number of cells or "hours".

Please see attached (Sheet 2, column S - orange highlight) for what I am trying to do.

    Thank you.

I have changed "." to ":" otherwise excel will not read it as time.
am and pm entry is must. I have done for rows 3 to 6.

    In U3 then copied down.

Another option (if you changed the text in times):

Please try in S4 and copy down:
