From table to autofill unique with sum
Hello,
I'm sure there is a way to input all my data into the table and have excel run a some-type of automated action to fill a list and include its numbers. I'm having to type everything in manually and sure there is a more automated way with Excel.
I attached a PDF and a sample excel file to help explain. And I don't want duplicates to show up on the list. Wondering if this is possible or if there's any better methods out there to make entries more easier, thanks!
I took a shot at this. First I got rid of the merged cells, so there is a slight cosmetic difference. Then I added a helper column (Column J) to determine if a project name is blank. I highlighted this full range and used it as data for a pivot table. Column J can be hidden if you wish. When you add data, refresh the pivot table and it will "catch up."

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
I've worked with excel for years but never thought of using Pivot tables. I looked over your attached excel form and learned how you did and recreated it on my end, ensuring it fits with my company standards.
Honestly, this helped me out A LOT and I'll share the idea with the rest of the team. Thank you so much!
