    Re: Find part of cells

Hi. Before we get going on this one...

Is your forum profile showing the Excel PRODUCT that you need this request to work with?

The best solutions often rely on knowing WHICH Office PRODUCT (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File/Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your version is for Mac, please also state this.

The three most recent Excel PRODUCTS are Excel 2019, Excel 2021 and MS365 - if you are using MS365, please give this name along with the Version number in your profile (e.g. MS365 (PC) Version 2211). The version number is in the About Excel section further down the Account page.

    Cheers,

    Glenn.

    Re: Find part of cells

No reply.... so a guess. Three formulae, copied across and down.

I changed the content of the BRIGHT orange cells to make this easier.

    =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(B$3&" ",$A4)),B$3,"")

    and

    =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(G$3&",",$A4)),G$3,"")

    and

    =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(" "&I$3,SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE($A4,"Charge"," Charge"),"%"," %"),","," "))),I$3+0,"")

all copied across and down. See file.

    H Glenn,
    thanks for the reply.

I would like to have all Types in one columns, also for Height and %.

    Item - Typ - Height - %

Could i ask to change this in your good solution?

    Thanks

    Re: Find part of cells

10 is a windows version. Not an Excel version. Are you using Excel 2010? If so, please amend your profile to read Excel 2010.

    Re: Find part of cells

Try the attached file. BUT PLEASE update your profile. If you have a more modern version, a better approach may be possible.

I changed the purple cells by removing leading/trailing spaces and the blue cells by formatting them as TEXT, with a space as shown.

    see file.
