365: Using =Image() to load an image from a local computer?

I've bene using Excel since 1987. Had every single version. Recently had 2019.

I have been creating all kinds of puzzles and games in Excel for decades. Many of them use images which take quite some time to plan nd layout in a grid format.

Heard about the =IMAGE() function in 365. i was STOKED, to say the least!

I finally decided to take the plunge and get 365.

Tried to load a local image. No go. Looked up the 'help' on it. It only loads image from the internet. Kind of useless, IMO.

I have numerous local images that would be used in a puzzle and I want to be able t load them using the =Image) function so I can work with them and save my self endless hours of programming to work with them.

Has anyone found a way to do this or should I just get my money back?

I believe it's only for internet images at this time. It's a brand new function, so I think in time it will be altered to allow for local images as well.
(BTW, there are SO many cool features with MS365 that I would get it easily over 2019 or any other version.)

Thanks for that info. The entire selling point for getting 365 was that function.

But I'll stick with it since you said it can do so much more.
