I am trying to get the following results. I want a count of all the "Y" in the Data sheet by the salesperson. I used this formula below, but it is not good. The dilemma is the "Y"'s are horizontal and the Salesperson is vertical. This is not the best design, but I have to keep the spreadsheet as is. The workbook is attached.

Perhaps like this ? (There are other ways)
if you just want to count "Y" from the data tab, maybe this will work for you...
=SUMPRODUCT((Data!$X$3:$X$26=Report!$A3)*(Data!$C$3:$W$26="Y"))
it returns 15 for Jewel, is that the answer you were expecting?
