Post Trying to consolidate data for upload

I would like return corresponding cell in the B column of the first spreadsheet to column Y based on a match of the customer names (Cells A and Q respectively). Essentially trying to consolidate data from two different sheets as one of them has postcodes while the other has UPRNS. The names of the customers are luckily identical on both sheets but there are missing customers on one sheet due to certain changes so we can not format in alphabetical order and copy and paste. How can I use a formulae on my main spreadsheet to identify a match between the two spreadsheets and then return the postcode in the column on the spreadsheet where it is missing? For example Spreadsheet 1 has an empty column for postcodes which I am trying to populate whereas spreadsheet 2 has a column for postcodes that is populated.

    With Power Query

Please Login or Register to view this content.
Power Query is a free AddIn for Excel 2010 and 2013, and is built-in functionality from Excel 2016 onwards (where it is referred to as "Get & Transform Data").

It is a powerful yet simple way of getting, changing and using data from a broad variety of sources, creating steps which may be easily repeated and refreshed. I strongly recommend learning how to use Power Query - it's among the most powerful functionalities of Excel.

Is there no available formulae within excel itself that can achieve this? The information is between two subsheets.

You could probably use the Vlookup or Xlookup functions.
