Number of months remaining in the Fiscal Year

We have an offschedule fiscal year that begins Sept 1 and ends Aug 31. I need a formula that will work through the years where if, for instance, my user puts in 12/9/2023, the formula will return the difference as a fractional month. I have that in the attachment, but that formula as it is now depends on a defined end of year date. But the year on the end date needs to be variable.

Current formula is below, where A2 is the start date, and O2 is the end date. I don't want to have my user be responsible for the end date.

If begin date is 12/9/23 or 1/7/24, end of FY is 8/31/24, but if begin date is 12/9/24 or 1/7/25, end date is 8/31/25.
How do I configure that variable end date in my formula?

Estevaoba, that formula returns the correct fiscal year end. So then should I use that formula as a replacement for O2 in my original formula, or is there a better way to do it?

If you look up on the DATEDIF function, you'll find there are some restrictions about it, as for consistency and accuracy.
But if it gives you results as expected, no problem using it, replacing O2 with my formula.
