Help needed to convert Table to Sumif by period

Hi, my table is simple, only 3 column, Staff name, pay and period. I wan to show Total Payroll and also total by month. The period to be dynamically transpose to header.
However, i am stuck in transposing the header and also adding the text "Total".
I think it will be easier if the By month header, i separately do the formula? Or can it be nested inside 1 formula to generate everything?

Hi Fluff, thanks! The formula is easily understood. I always forgot "Torow". Anyway, i thought the formula would required formula such as Lambda which i scare most. Luckily can be achieve without using Lambda.

Hi, Fluff, lets say i want to sort the Total from biggest to smallest. How should i amend? I tried to sort, but then, the header and the last row become sorted as well.
