    How do I lock in the match lookup value so I can drag a formula to adjacent columns?

    Guy's I got a basic problem here that if you answer will help me save time. Thanks in advance.
    I'm using the index match function to pull data. And I can drag the function to the right to populate more columns and that works for me. But the problem is that match is inside of that function, and when I drag it right I don't know how to lock in the "lookup value" of match so that the lookup value stays the same even though the formula is being dragged to cells right of it.

    It's one of those lookup values that say It won't let me type the at symbol anywhere on this post cause I'm newer... jeeze But it's the cell with the at symbol and then names a cell title

    "[at symbolcell title]"

    and I tried putting the $ symbol at each part of this to try to lock in the cell and it won't work. I tried putting the $ in between each thing and before it. So I don't know what to do.

    Here's a sample workbook, but it isn't the greatest lol.. basically the point is that i'm dragging all these SPX returns, all of these returns on the different indexes, i'm dragging that formula to the right, and I can't lock the cell of the [Datevalue] so I gotta copy and paste that into each formula.

    Thanks

    When dealing with tables and you want to lock the column.

    Table16[@Forecast] --> Table16[@[Forecast]:[Forecast]]

    Hey I got a follow up question.

    When I drag the formula to the right, it populates that cell, but I got 500 rows of data, and it doesn't populate any of the cells below it. I gotta drag down the little dot on the bottom corner of the box and drag it all the way down. Is there a button I can click or something to make it populate the entire column after a formula is dragged over? Thanks!

    Administrative Note:

If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File | Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your product is for Mac, please also state this.

    The best solution would be copy the first row cell you want and paste to the other first cell columns, this way you don't even need to change the column reference, if not, drag down all together.
